We help the University of Baltimore community teach and learn more effectively.
CELTT collaborates with faculty to help achieve goals related to teaching and learning, scholarship, and service. We build faculty and institutional capacity in pedagogy, online learning, and assessment. CELTT celebrates teaching and learning and cultivates deep faculty engagement through new faculty orientation, sessions on faculty development topics, skill-building courses and certificates, communities of practice, the faculty fellows program, events showcasing teaching and learning at UBalt, faculty mini-grants, and partnering with other institutions in Maryland and beyond. Our goal is to create an atmosphere that supports faculty, fosters the use of established best practices as well as new innovations in teaching and learning, responds to faculty needs, encourages faculty collaboration, and lauds pedagogical and scholarly successes at UBalt. The center was founded in 2008. In 2020, CELTT became part of RLB Library.
CELTT achieves UBalt’s strategic goals to:
- Improve the quality and effectiveness of online teaching
- Strengthen excellence in teaching and learning
- Enhance support for scholarly activity and nurture interdisciplinary collaboration
- Foster an inclusive and diverse community
